In B.Ed. Curriculum it is essential to study two Pedagogic subjects. Some Examples of Pedagogic Subjects are Pedagogy of Hindi, Pedagogy of Mathematics, Pedagogy of Social Sciences, Pedagogy of Home Sciences etc. Here the name of subjects Hindi, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Home Sciences are familiar to all as these are the school subjects or subjects at graduation or post-graduation level. But the subjects Pedagogy of Hindi, Pedagogy of Mathematics, Pedagogy of Social Sciences, Pedagogy of Home Science are quite different from Hindi, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Home Sciences as the word ‘Pedagogy’ is associated with general school subjects. Now the question arises, “what is the meaning of the word PEDAGOGY?’

"Pedagogy is the study of methods and activities of teaching." - Cambridge English Dictionary

"Pedagogy deals with the method and practice of teaching, especially as an academic subject or theoretical concept." - Oxford Dictionary

This selection of two Pedagogic Subjects is made on the basis of subjects the student had at the graduation level. A B.Ed. student can opt a specific pedagogic subject if he/she had studied the theoretical subject related to that specific pedagogical subject for more than two years at graduation level or had done his/her post-graduation in that particular theoretical subject.
