Alumni Meet ‘Affinity’ 2019

It’s time for Nostalgia; it was time for feeling young again. The Institute of Professional Excellence and Management (IPEM), Ghaziabad conducted its 2nd Alumni Meet on 19th April, 2019 and needless to say it was a huge success. The ceremony took off with the arrival of our alumni and their welcome with tilak and some snacks with the teachers. We are glad that the range of alumni from 2002 batch to 2015 batch showed their presence. The meet was well attended by more than 200 alumni ranging across various batches. Function started at 9.00 A.M. with lighting of the lamp by the Col. (Dr.) A.S. Malhotra Director Journal, IPEM. Dr. Nishi Sharma, Principal Centre for Teacher Educationn (CTE) Department blessed the alumni with her motivating words and extended a very warm, cordial and affectionate welcome to all the Alumni and their families. The Inaugural session was also attended by various school and college faculty, HODs, and faculty and staff members of IPEM. Many Alumni members like Mr. Umesh Singh, Manvinder Kaur, Rajneesh, Jagriti Singh and Priyanka Tomar and others in their address to the fellow members appreciated the growth of the IPEM and also promised that they would interact with the students at short intervals in a team. This will help the students in facing the interviews more successfully and will help them realize the industry expectations.

The event showcased few cultural events by final year students, followed by the brief introduction of few Alumni who shared their experience during the college days and asked the students to have self confidence in them to achieve the goal. They also shared that how important is to understand the Program being taught during the B.Ed programme, respect to seniors and faculty members. They also emphasized how important it is to attend all the various activities taking place in and outside the department in the campus. A number of commendable suggestions came up for the improvement of the department. It was decided to strengthen the link between the current batch and alumni for their support to current students in the area of training, placement, career counselling and any other help.

The meet provided a platform to the esteemed alumni to meet with their old friends, faculty and other batch mates and to relive their beautiful memories of study time. The meet was attended by alumni right from the very first batch to last batch passed out from B.Ed. & B.T.C. Registration of alumni was done on the day by the registration committee. Senior most retired faculty of CTE, Mrs. Saroj Sharma was the special invitee of the event. She is the wife of Professor Dr. I.S. Sharma founder Principal of CTE. The Meet was commenced with the lamp lightening by the special invitee Mrs. Saroj Sharma, Dr. Col. A.S. Malhotra (Director General IPEM), Dr. Sugandha Goel (Dean Academics) Dr. Nishi Sharma (Principal, CTE), HOD’s from Various Departments & all the faculty members. Dr. Sugandha Goel (Dean Academics, IPEM) felicitate Mrs. Saroj Sharma.

The Welcome address was delivered by Dr.Nishi Sharma (Principal, CTE). In her welcome address, she welcomed the alumni and apprised them for the developments that have occurred after their training programme and also those that are in the pipeline. She has also emphasized the importance of a strong alumni base for an institute and explained how alumni reunion is significant for the growth of the institution and the individual.

Then a small presentation is given to alumni by Dr. Shweta Tyagi (Asst. Prof. CTE). She enlightens on the journey of CTE and various events took placed in IPEM through the glimpses. She said, CTE has started its journey in 2002 with 100 seats in B.Ed. Now CTE is running successfully with 200 seats in B.Ed. And 50 seats in D. El. Ed. . Focusing on the importance and purpose of conducting the alumni meet, she introduced the alumni with batch wise alumni committees, committee’s coordinators and their role & function. She explained how these committees will be helpful to them in connecting and sharing their experience and services with CTE in future.,

To cherish the memories of the meet batch wise group photo was clicked .The memory of the alumni was tested in the form of quiz ‘Shake your Memories’ related to the events conducted at that time, name of their teachers & some places of IPEM. All alumni participated in the quiz with great enthusiasm and won prizes by giving spontaneous responses. Some alumni has also graced the occasion with their words. Mr. Umesh Singh, Ms. Manvinder Kaur, Ms. Pooja Singh, Priyanka Tomar, Komal Bharti, Bhawna Chaudhary and Jagriti Singh shared their memories, sweet & sour experiences and the contribution of the faculty in their progress. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Manoj Chauhan (Event Coordinator).

After the formal function, alumni proceeded for the lunch. A delicious lunch was served to all the alumni &staff members at the end of alumni reunion. The program was ended with the dance session “Rock on the Floor”.
