Legal Aid Camp on 2nd March, 2019
The Students of B.A.LL.B-X Semester) & LL.B- IV (Semester) participated in the legal aid camp. There were 50 students belonging to both the cases. The legal aid camp was divided into two parts
IPEM Law Academy organized a Free Legal Camp on 2.3.2019 at Naari Vishwas Vikas Park, Sector- 11, Pratap Vihar & Ghaziabad from 11 A.M to 4 P.M.
Dr. Meenakshi Tomar gave the introduction and importance of free legal aid camp and its benefits to the weaker section of the society. Mr. Sudhakaran explained the different provisions of law relating to women as Indian Penal Code, Criminal .Procedure Code, 1973, Hindu Marriage Act, 2005 & Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. Students also expressed their thought on the topic and explained legal aid camp can help in solving their legal problem. Some local residents asked their solution for the legal problems they are facing in the present situation such as physical assault, property dispute, kidnapping etc.
Students were divided into group consists of 4 or 5 and they accessed to the different locality with the material related to legal aid, admission pamphlets and met with the local resident and tried to solve their legal problem personally. The residents were informed that if any query they can contact our legal aid clinic located in the IPEM Law Academy campus or they can take help from our Alumni Advocate.
Many residents put their problems before the students & faculty. Appropriate remedies were suggested to them as per the law.
The camp was coordinated by Dr. Meenakshi Tomar & Mr. Sudhakaran (Asst. Professor) under the guidance and support by Prof. (Dr). B.PS Sehgal (Director) and with the help by Santram Yadav (Municipal Counselor, Ward No 51, Pratap Vihar , Ghaziabad) & Dharampal Singh, Student of LL.B (IV Semester).
